Flexible Contribution Roles
The Futurist Playground is a group of intrinsically-motivated, self-organizing individuals who are interested in finding holistic solutions to systemic problems. This systems approach requires new ways of thinking and living on this planet. We have identified three major roles for contributing to this collaborative goal, which allows members flexibility to participate based on their individual interests and personal situation. Members/collaborators may specialize in one of the below roles or some combination of the three. Together, we aim to improve the fulfillment and quality of life for ourselves, each other, and all fellow humans on Earth.
Responsibilities:
- Help facilitate arriving at community decisions and mediation.
- Further develop the Value Evaluation Process and design specifications.
- Give presentations on Futurist Playground community network and mission to the public, visitors and new members.
- Read, practice and demonstrate thorough understanding of the Value Evaluation Process and design specifications
- Time spent in helping manage community decisions, developing/refining the lifestyle toolkit and facilitating the spread of information.
Responsibilities:
- Identify and solve design challenges that improve quality of life for members of community houses and/or Abundance-Based Community Developments.
- Contribute to the design, marketing, and implementation of Abundance-Based Community Developments.
- Have the interest and intrinsic motivation to identify and/or solve design challenges that will improve the community.
- Time spent to identify/solve design challenges that have tangible contribution value.
Responsibilities:
- Gather resources that are needed to support the community house network or to help implement Abundance-Based Community Developments. This can take the form of working for money to help support the project financially, networking with contributors, writing grants or acquiring raw materials.
- If you work a job, demonstrate that it is an effective use of your time for the amount of money you are making. If the opportunity cost of you working a job is high then it may make more sense to contribute as a designer or facilitator.
- Amount of resources, people or money brought into the community.
Facilitator
Responsibilities:
- Facilitate community decisions and mediation.
- Develop the Value Evaluation Process and design specifications.
- Give Futurist Playground presentations.
- Understand Value Evaluation Process and design specifications.
- Results of time spent on responsbilities.
Designer
Responsibilities:
- Identify and solve design challenges.
- Contribute to the advancement of ABCDs.
- Have the interest and intrinsic motivation to identify and/or solve design challenges.
- Results of time spent on design challenges.
Resource Gatherer
Responsibilities:
- Gather resources that are needed to support the organization or ABCDs.
- Demonstrate effectiveness of gathering resources.
- Amount of resources, people or money brought into the community.
